The Greatest Death in a Woman's Life
Is to Give Birth
The path steers course
Navigating a new inner sea.
As I mourn for my old self deeply
The child in me becomes a child in me
I reach out for the girl inside
But she is gone, frivolously dissapeared
Once again and for the first time forever.
As I rise to join the ranks
Of the billions before me
My fear is fierce
Because I no longer know me
A mother born because of her baby
In the circle of life there's no choice but to
Swim in this sea that bathes me.
